Application for capacity allocation

Now is the time to submit notification for the planning work for the 2025 capacity allocation. Submission takes place no later than May 13.

Capacity allocation is the process carried out each year to allocate capacity within Piteå municipality’s railway network. Current timetables, freight types and train companies for Port of Piteå, Energibangården and Backen are also included in a capacity allocation.

Who is responsible for what?
Piteå municipality and Piteå Hamn AB have jointly distributed the responsibility roles for all municipal railways. Piteå municipality is responsible, among other things, for operation and maintenance, while Piteå Hamn AB is responsible for capacity allocation.
