Existing units will be replaced with GPS synchronized light buoys. The update will lift current darkness restrictions for vessels over 170 meters.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fairway into Port of Pite\u00e5 has dark restrictions with restrictions for vessels over 170 meters. The restrictions are established by the Swedish Maritime Administration, to guarantee the safety.<\/p>\n<p>This autumn the fairway&#8217;s light buoys are being updated.<br \/>\n<em>\u2013 In consultation with the Swedish Maritime Administration, we have found a solution to lift these restrictions, says Clas Johansson, shipping manager at Port of Pite\u00e5.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Existing marine safety devices (SSA) will be replaced with GPS-synchronized light buoys. The synchronization means that the buoys flash at the same time and create a safe fairway for both inbound and outbound sailing.<br \/>\n<em>\u2013 We want to be able to serve our customers during all days and times of the year.
