During the winter months, when the ice takes hold, we charter the icebreaker Viscaria from Lule\u00e5 harbor. Viscaria breaks the ice in Pite\u00e5 Harbor’s fairways, ensuring the important freight traffic to and from Pite\u00e5. Outside the harbor’s fairways (near Lesk\u00e4r), the Swedish Maritime Administration’s icebreakers take over.<\/p>\n

Viscaria is a powerful icebreaking tugboat, equipped with accommodation for seven crew members. It has an impressive engine power of 6,150 horsepower and a towing capacity of 62 tons.<\/p>\n
