Waste is collected at Port of Pite\u00e5, in compliance with the \u2018Swedish Maritime Administration\u2019s Statutes and General Guidelines on Waste Collection From Ships\u2019, (SJ\u00d6FS 2001:12) as well as the Directive 2000\/59\/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council.<\/p>\n

The collection facility is also equipped with different containers for material recycling where fractions and signage are in compliance with the recommendations outlined in the EU project \u2018Baltic Master II\u2019.<\/p>\n
Waste manangemet<\/a><\/p>\n Any kind of contraventions, transgressions and or violations to the “Waste managent”, that will\u00a0 generate a cost for the port, is to be charged the shipping company plus a administration cost of + 10 %.<\/p>\n Cargo residues are to be handled, and paid for, by the shipping company itself.<\/p>\n The ship, and or the shipping company, can download a “Waste delivery receipt” here: Sludge –\u00a0<\/strong>

\nAs of September 1, 2024, Port of Pite\u00e5 will have a new provider for the collection of sludge and similar waste. The new provider, RagnSells, will take over responsibility for waste management at all vessel calls after this date.<\/p>\n
